The outer pipe usually uses carbon steel (with high carbon content) to provide mechanical strength and impact resistance, while the inner liner uses stainless steel, titanium alloy, or nickel-based alloys to achieve corrosion resistance. Common composite processes include mechanical rolling, explosive bonding, hydraulic bonding, and drawing bonding. The combined strength is generally ≥ 0.5 MPa, and they comply with national standards such as GB/T8163-2008. In addition, the double tungsten inert gas arc internal welding process has the characteristics of high deposition efficiency and low dilution rate of the base material [1], and 3D printing overlay welding technology is also used to achieve the bonding of the alloy layer and the base pipe [2]. The specifications of this pipe cover DN15 to DN1020mm, with a pressure resistance value of ≥ 3.0 MPa, a working temperature range of -20 to 350℃ (low thermal expansion rate), and support various connection methods such as threads, flanges, and automatic welding. The outer layer adopts 16.9mm X 65 acid-resistant carbon steel, and the inner layer is covered with 2mm nickel-based alloy. This structural design can adapt to deep-sea high pressure, high sulfur, high acid, and low-temperature environments. The alloy layer formed by 3D printing overlay welding technology has an optimized thickness of 3mm, which can resist long-term erosion by 15% concentration hydrogen sulfide gas, and the designed service life can reach 25 to 30 years [2]. The product has been certified by the Chinese Classification Society and is commonly used in oilfield gathering and transportation, power desulfurization, deep-sea oil and gas transportation, and hydropower station water supply pipelines. Its application covers fields such as petrochemicals, seawater desalination, nuclear power superconducting conductors composite armor, and helps to reduce equipment maintenance costs and extend service life. Bimetal Composite Pipes: are new type of composite water supply pipes formed by strongly embedding galvanized steel pipes or welded pipes, seamless pipes, and thinner stainless steel pipes. It retains the inherent advantages of the two different materials, compensates for their inherent deficiencies, and adopts the traditional mature installation method and process of galvanized steel pipes. Depending on the selection of base pipe and inner liner materials, as well as the improvement of manufacturing processes, bimetal composite pipes are applied in industrial fields such as oil and gas, chemical industry, and power. Basic principle The basic principle of the bimetallic composite steel pipe: The outer base pipe is responsible for bearing pressure and providing rigid support for the pipeline, while the inner liner pipe is responsible for corrosion resistance and wear resistance. The outer base pipe can be selected based on the flow rate and pressure requirements of the transported medium, using carbon steel tubes of different diameters and wall thicknesses. Such as hot-dip galvanized steel pipes, straight seam welded pipes, spiral pipes, seamless steel pipes for low to medium pressure fluid transportation, seamless steel pipes for high-pressure boilers, petroleum cracking, pipeline pipes, etc. The diameter is generally within the range of φ20 - φ1020mm, and the wall thickness is generally within the range of 2.5 - 50mm. The inner liner pipe can be selected based on the chemical composition of the transported medium, using different corrosion-resistant alloys. Such as austenitic stainless steel 304, 304L, 316, 316L, copper-based alloys, nickel-based alloys, Hastelloy alloys, titanium, titanium alloys, duplex stainless steel and other new high corrosion-resistant alloy materials. The wall thickness of the inner liner pipe can be designed to be around 0.3 - 5mm according to the requirements of service life and welding process. Connection method. The outer base pipes mostly use galvanized pipes, and the mature connection methods of galvanized pipes are adopted: 1. Threaded connection (commonly known as thread connection), applicable to DN15-DN100, following the standards of GB7306-2 and GB3287-1982; 2. Groove clamp connection, applicable to DN100 and above, following the standard of CJ/T156; 3. Flange connection, depending on the situation, generally used for DN100 and above, the flanges and other parts are custom-made by the manufacturer, and a special silicone layer is added at the connection point; 4. Welding connection, according to the actual working conditions, it is implemented by welding, following the standards of YB/T5092-2005 and JB/T4747-2002, generally using three-layer welding, first argon arc welding to seal the bottom, then welding the transition layer, and finally manual arc welding to fill and cover the surface.
